Yokai Shines at ADCC Cape Town

On 28 June 2025, six of our Yokai competitors stepped onto the mats at the ADCC tournament in Cape Town - and they made us proud. Representing both grit and technical skill, the team brought home six medals across various divisions.
Matthew Foxcroft – Gold, Intermediate Adult under 91kg
Ruben de Kock – Gold, Beginner under 18 under 83kg & Silver, Adult Beginner under 83kg
Clinton Myburgh – Silver, Pro Master 1 under 91kg
Gurswin George – Bronze, Intermediate Adult under 91kg
Antonio de Waal – Bronze, Beginner Adult under 70kg
Sam Williams – Bronze, Masters 1 under 83kg (fought up a weight and age category)
Head coach Cameron Pritchard commended the athletes on their outstanding performance, noting not only their skill but also the unity and sportsmanship they demonstrated throughout the event.
Yokai continues to stand out - not just for our technique and training standards, but for our team culture and unmistakably cool merch. This is more than just a gym. It's a movement.
